Our Story

K & C Grounds Maintenance started the same way a lot of great companies do, with one person’s dream, a basement workspace, and a commitment to doing the job the right way.

Kurt Huppert founded K & C with a simple belief: our clients’ properties are a reflection of their organization, and the work should show it. That mindset, along with years of hands-on experience, grew into the company we are today, a trusted partner for commercial landscape maintenance and athletic field services across the Baltimore metro area and beyond.

Our beginnings:

Kurt started the company out of his basement and built it the hard way, one property and one relationship at a time. It was never about cutting corners or chasing quick growth. It was about showing up, listening, delivering clean results, and standing behind the work.

That standard became our culture, and it’s what clients still count on today.

How we’ve grown:

Over the years, we’ve expanded our capabilities and built specialized teams so we can take great care of properties year-round, including:

We’ve also grown our athletic field services significantly over the past decade, utilizing the latest techniques and sourcing the best equipment from around the world to bring clients improved durability, playability, and safety on natural grass fields.

Leadership that stays close to the work:

Kurt brings decades of landscaping experience to the field and the relationships. He is a Maryland Certified Professional Horticulturalist and a Maryland Certified Pesticide Applicator, and he takes pride in working directly with clients to make sure expectations are clear and results match the plan.
